Technical Training in the USA???
Part 1
Where have all the trade schools gone? Did they leave because of lack of student interest, or business needs, or just because it is cheaper put a computer in a nice safe class room than to invest in our nation’s future with $500,000 state of the art machine tool? Anyway you look at its going to put us behind the ball again. We are experiencing huge manufacturing growth do to the price of oil, the military actions, and maintaining our mature infrastructure. China is ready again to set in and work circles around us. Not with big dollar equipment but cheap well trained skilled labor working in dirt floor shops doing most of the work by hand. Technical Training in the USA??? Were do we start?

We have a really good program at DeAnza College http://deanza.edu/manufacturing/ We are a Haas technical center, they supply us with horizontal and vertical machining centers and CNC lathes, we are in the San Francisco bay area, we also have online courses in Mastercam CAD/CAM programming at http://eapprentice.net/ these are not college accredited, but can get you up and running quickly, if learning the software is your objective, if you are in the machining industry, learning the new technologies is the only answer, the button pushing jobs have gone forever
